NY Times calls Portsmouth NH "A Mini-Boston on a Small Slice of Coast"

I might disagree with that. I prefer to think that Boston is just a bigger portsmouth ;)

All kidding aside... the Times article provides a nice snapshot of the different coastal communities. They provide summaries of Portsmouth as "a stew of arty cool, Colonial architecture and good restaurants...", New Castle "New Hampshire’s tiniest town, at 0.8 square miles. Spread across one large island and several smaller ones", Rye "a perfect blend of rural charm and seaside ambience" and more.
